Mechanical Maintenance Engineer



Summary:


We are currently seeking an experienced Plumber / Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our busy Facilities Management team based within a large commercial site in Belfast, Northern Ireland.


The Role:


To work as part of a dedicated team within a large commercial site in Belfast. Title does not delimit the duties that may be required, the successful candidate will be expected to carry out any other such duties that may be reasonably required.

Working hours will be a standard 40 hours, mainly Monday to Friday (rotation between 7am – 4pm and 9am - 6pm). Emergency call-out will be required over and above normal working hours but will be set within an agreed pattern (1 week in every 4) and a full remuneration package will be included. Occasional weekend/out of hours work will be required throughout the year to meet the needs of the business.


Duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Mechanical / Plumbing maintenance tasks
  • General maintenance tasks not limited to the Mechanical discipline
  • Troubleshooting in order to diagnose and correct faults.
  • Carry out planned maintenance - daily, weekly, monthly checks including remedial works.
  • Meeting delivery and quality KPIs
  • Efficient planning of tasks
  • Logging and closing PPM and reactive jobs on computer based systems
  • Ability to read drawings
  • Maintaining working relationship with client site teams and customers
  • Enforce health & safety and housekeeping standards and ensure relevant protocols are followed


Person Specification:


The candidate will have a strong based work knowledge in Mechanical / Plumbing Maintenance tasks, they will be self-motivated with strong team working attributes and have the ability to analyse a problem and develop a solution with minimum input from others. The candidate will maintain a professional approach and high self-conduct standards will be expected at all times, health & safety is of paramount importance at all times and must be at the forefront of all working decisions.

The candidate will be expected to prepare and issue reports, verbal and written to the Facilities Manager and produce upon request any backup data gained while in execution of all duties.


ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

  • NVQ Level 3 qualification or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years experience within a similar environment

  • CSR Card
  • Access NI
  • Gas Safe qualification
  • IPAF 3A/3B
  • Asbestos Awareness
  • Close proximity to sites around Belfast.
