Electrical BID Manager

We are seeking to recruit a focused, organised and experienced Electrical Bid Manager to join our commercial team. The Bid Manager will lead our commercial team through the design development process taking ownership of the end-to-end bid process.

 The Role

  • To oversee the commercial team during the design development phase of D&B projects.
  • Work effectively with our design management, estimating and delivery teams using commercial expertise to provide appropriate challenge and support
  • Delivering pre-construction services within financial constraints to meet Business Plan objectives
  • Preparing and reviewing the commercial aspects of the bid, ensuring all services are included in the final price to the customer
  • To develop and manage bids in line with an agreed project plan and to ensure all deadlines are met
  • Ensure design strategy is in place, risk analysed & summarised
  • Ensure all bids are subject to correct adjudication and governance procedures
  • Monthly reporting on workflow forecasts & bid trend analysis information
  • Monitor, update & produce approvals
  • Ensure the bid team adheres to defined governance, correct adjudication & bid management processes & adequately hands over successful bids to delivery teams
  • Develop, lead, manage & maintain a bid team to meet Business Unit objectives
  • Defined bid experience & exposure to multi procurement & contract types

Person Specification

  • People management, leadership and strong negotiation experience
  • Demonstrable experience in a variety of forms of contract
  • Computer literacy
  • Ability to prioritise remain focused and work under pressure to deadline
  • Ability to delegate and organise workloads of self and others
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to quickly establish good working relationships at all levels

Accounts Administrator

We are seeking an Accounts Administrator to join our team. This full time post will be based in our Head Office in Ballymoney and will initially be maternity cover for 10-12 months.

 The Role

  • To comply with our standards of service and interact with all clients and employees in a professional and friendly manner at all times
  • Processing a high volume of invoices through Sage
  • Ensuring accurate follow up of all invoice queries
  • Ensuring all accounts on hold are investigated and resolved
  • Communicating with buyers and suppliers on a daily basis
  • Dealing with supplier account queries
  • Reconciliation of supplier statements
  • Maintain the accounts department’s filing system for all accounts
  • Perform any assigned duties required for completion of month-end and year-end closing of the books

 Person Specification

  • Minimum 3 years experience in Accounts Administration (Essential)
  • Previous experience in Sage Accounts
  • Computer literate with good knowledge in Microsoft Excel & Word
  • Excellent knowledge of general accounting procedures in a business setting
  • Ability to produce work of a consistently high quality
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with the internal management of the company from Graduate to Director Level
  • Ability to work fast paced and unassisted
  • Attention to detail and ability to prioritise workload
  • Ability to take and follow instructions

Electrical Design Manager

We are seeking to recruit a focused, organised and experienced Electrical (Building Services) Senior Design Manager to join our team. The post will based between London and Belfast.

 THE ROLE

  • Manage external consultants providing MEP designs to meet design and construction budgets, on time and to meet client’s requirements.
  • Verification of external consultants design’s including detailed analysis of
    Revit and Hevacomp output data.
  • Verification of external Consultants design including review of Revit models.
  • Development of concept designs and management of key deliverables.
  • Attendance at client and design team meetings.
  • Preparation of excel spreadsheets and power point presentations.
  • Develop new and existing business opportunities.

 Essential Criteria

  • Minimum HNC /HND in building services engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in an Electrical Services design role either consultancy or contractor based with a bias towards design and build contracts.
  • Working knowledge of IES and Revit design software.
  • Ability to demonstrate a good awareness of elemental cost figures and process.
  • Fully proficient with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Highly motivated with excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent planning, organisational and time management skills.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Must have the ability to work alone with minimal supervision.
  • Client facing attributes and presentation experience.
  • Have a flexible attitude and be comfortable working on a number of projects simultaneously.

Desirable Criteria

  • Membership of CIBSE / IHEEM preferred but not essential.
  • Background in healthcare and education sectors with full understanding of HTM, HBN and Building Bulletin standards preferred.
  • Experience in delivering projects to BIM level 2.

Plumber

We are seeking to recruit qualified Plumbers/Pipefitters to join our busy Mechanical Division.  The post(s) will initially be based in Northern Ireland, though future work may be based throughout the UK.

The candidate must be able to carry out mechanical installation work efficiently and in accordance with current industry legislation / regulations.

Reporting to the Mechanical Contracts Supervisor, the role will pay a competitive salary commensurate with industry guidelines.

Essential Criteria

  • Time served NVQ/C&G qualified in a pipefitting, plumbing or mechanical discipline
  • Minimum of 2 years site experience
  • The ability to work unsupervised and to own initiative
  • The ability to set out jobs from drawings and specifications
  • Supervision/mentoring of other operatives, where required
  • Valid CSR card

Desirable Criteria

  • IPaf 3A/3B
  • PASMA Combined

Apprenticeship Scheme

We run an annual Apprenticeship Scheme for both Mechanical & Electrical apprentices.

We are no longer accepting CVs for the 2017 Apprenticeship Scheme.

The recruitment process begins in May/June each year and is as follows:

  • On receipt of your CV we will invite you for interview and to complete an aptitude test
  • Successful applicants will be invited to do a week’s trail on-site in July / August
  • Having passed the trial you will begin your college course and your Dowds Group apprenticeship in September.
