Business Development Manager (MIDLANDS & SOUTHEAST ENGLAND)



Summary:


This sales generation role will be exclusively customer facing to generate opportunities in line with exacting Construction Division strategy objectives throughout the Midlands and the Southeast areas. The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting the Construction Division’s range of services to prospecting clients and industry consultants that share synergies with the Construction Division business unit strategy.

Primary Location: Ideally placed centrally between Midlands & Southeast area

Employment: Permanent, Part-time with option to move to Full-time

The Role:


Working as part of Dowds Construction Division pre-construction team, you will report directly to the Pre-Construction Manager and be responsible for:

  • Developing meaningful and trusting relationships that compliment business unit objectives
  • Collaboratively developing a robust Marketing & Business Development Plan for the territory
  • Individually delivering the specific Business Development Plan objectives to drive profitable market share growth
  • Unearthing new business opportunities ensuring future growth in line with business unit strategy
  • Defining, delivering and developing relevant and targeted marketing campaigns
  • Ensuring regular customer contact to build and maintain customer relationships to protect and grow sales position in the market
  • Actively participate and attend relevant networking events with targeted attendees


Person Specification:


Your Experience

To be considered for this position, you should be able to demonstrate the following as a minimum:

  • A solid background in Construction and/or experience of working within customer facing Construction markets
  • An in-depth knowledge of the Warehousing and Healthcare Sectors in the Construction industry within the defined territory
  • Proven experiencing implementing business strategy and managing successful marketing campaigns
  • Proven networking skills and the ability to build and maintain meaningful relationships
  • A track-record of successfully delivering exacting business development objectives

Your Skills

  • A degree or third level qualification in a construction is desirable but not essential
  • Membership of RICS / MCIOB is preferred but not essential
  • You should have a strong technical ability to interpret drawings and specifications.
  • Interpersonal skills that encourage openness and trust
  • Be self-motivated, can work independently and have a strong entrepreneurial spirit
