Dowds Group delivered a critical £23m MEP infrastructure upgrade for the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Woolwich. The project focused on replacing non-compliant legacy systems to meet strict HBN/HTM standards while ensuring zero disruption to live hospital operations.

Originally built in the early 2000s under a PFI initiative, the hospital’s systems required urgent modernisation to meet current regulations, including the June 2021 HBN/HTM revisions. Dowds executed a comprehensive 80-week programme, managing a complex scope that included high-voltage power upgrades, energy centre reconfiguration, and critical ventilation works. A rigorous commissioning strategy was essential to manage shutdowns and temporary services in this fully operational acute care environment.
