Dowds Group acted as both designer and M&E contractor for the Pavilion Pupil Referral Unit in Barnet, partnering with Graham to deliver two new buildings providing modern, specialist facilities for up to 73 young people with social, emotional, and medical needs.

The scope covered two new buildings: the Study Centre and the Pavilion, a cricket facility serving both the school and the wider community. The Study Centre provides science labs, art studios, technology workshops, a food technology classroom, a sports hall, an IT suite, and music and drama spaces, each designed to meet the acoustic and safety demands of an Alternative Provision setting. To support this, Dowds installed a robust access control system to ensure a secure environment, whilst also installing a full sprinkler system. Beyond the buildings themselves, external works included car park lighting and EV charging points supported by an on-site solar PV installation.
