Dowds delivered the highly complex M&E installation for this new three-storey, 7,969 sqm facility, comprising 10 birthing suites, a 28-cot Critical Care Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), and a 30-cot Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU). Our scope also included an MRI unit, the Foetal Medicine department, and a significant refurbishment of the existing maternity hospital once the new building was operational.

To meet the exacting standards required for high-dependency infant care, we engineered resilient IPS/UPS power systems fully compliant with MEIGaN regulations and achieved strict acoustic performance levels. We utilised off-site manufacturing for vertical bedhead trunking – integrating medical gas, power, and nurse call systems – to ensure precision quality and meet the tight multi-phased handover programme.
