Dowds Group successfully delivered the comprehensive M&E services for the School of Mathematical Sciences at Queen Mary University of London (QMUL). This high-specification project was engineered to achieve a BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating, providing a sustainable, modern environment for academic study and research.

The project involved the complete mechanical and electrical transformation of the School’s facilities. The scope included the installation of services for high-quality teaching rooms, a range of private and group study areas tailored for both undergraduate and postgraduate students, and a vibrant new social hub. To ensure a flawless interconnection with the wider university campus systems, Dowds managed a complex integration process, ensuring that the School’s new infrastructure remained fully compatible with QMUL’s estate-wide utilities. The finished facility balances the rigorous technical needs of a modern university with a welcoming, energy-efficient design that promotes collaboration and focus.
