Dowds Group served as the primary delivery partner, responsible for a portfolio of 5 state-of-the-art industry leading food manufacturing plants, including Finnebrogue Artisan’s £26m “OTB” factory expansion. Working from a greenfield site, our team designed and handed over this high-tech, sustainable facility within five months.

The OTB facility was purpose-built to house plant-based food production at scale. The scope covered the full design and build of the entire facility including all M&E infrastructure required for high-volume manufacturing. This included multiple process lines, chill facilities, washrooms, and dock leveller dispatch systems – with Dowds delivering a turnkey solution ready for immediate operation on handover. To maintain the integrity of Finnebrogue’s plant-based range, the layout was designed with multiple temperature-controlled zones spanning ambient, chilled, and refrigerated environments, allowing meat and vegan production to run simultaneously on the same site without cross-contamination risk. With COVID-19 restrictions in place throughout delivery, Dowds managed a multi-discipline workforce of circa 300 operatives to successfully meet the completion date in just 20 weeks.
