Summary:
We are seeking a proactive and dedicated individual to join our Facilities Management (FM) team, supporting contracts across Northern Ireland and beyond when required. This is a hands-on role that will involve the following:
Planned Preventive Maintenance, (PPM) to reduce downtime and extend asset life.
Reactive Maintenance, to address urgent issues.
Maintenance & Repair, of building systems, boilers, infrastructure.
Fabric and Electrical testing, ensuring compliance and safety standards.
The Role:
A key aspect of this position is client liaison—you will be the face of our service, responsible for maintaining strong client relationships through strong communication and the ability to deliver high-quality service to ensure client satisfaction, this is an essential aspect of the role.

Computer Skills

- Mobile Workforce Management Tools – for logging jobs, updating progress, and managing tasks on the go
- Email and Digital Communication Platforms – for professional correspondence, management and client updates
Key Responsibilities
As a Skilled Gas Engineer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth, safe, and efficient delivery of works across our Facilities Management (FM) contracts. Your responsibilities will include but not limited to:
- Health & Safety: Proactively identify and manage safety risks and hazards on-site.
- Site Compliance: Ensure adherence to site rules and compliance with all relevant safety standards.
- Quality Assurance: Maintain compliance with legal, regulatory, and company quality standards.
- Project Support: Assist the Operations and Contracts Managers in assessing potential works and planning work programmes.
- Reporting & Communication: Utilising Mobile Workforce Management Tools assisting with accurate site reports and provide regular updates to management.
- Procurement & Logistics: Support the procurement and coordination of materials, plant, and equipment deliveries.
- Problem Solving: Identify technical issues, raise safety concerns appropriately, and implement effective solutions.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Support external inspections and audits with clients and internal SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment & Quality) teams.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with Operations and Contracts Managers as part of a professional, solutions-focused team.
Person Specification:
The ideal candidate will have:
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role within facilities management or building services.
- Relevant trade-based qualifications in mechanical or electrical disciplines.
- Gas certifications, including:
- Domestic Gas Safety (CCN1)
- Commercial Gas Safety (COCN1)
- Testing & Purging Pipework over 150mm (TPCP1)
- Testing & Purging Pipework under 150mm (TPCP1A)
- Domestic to Commercial Heating Changeover (CODNCO1)
- Strong technical knowledge across a range of building systems and equipment.
- Substantial experience in testing, fault finding in a variety of plant such as gas boilers, heating plants, pumps & ventilation.
- Excellent communication skills, with a trustworthy and approachable manner.
- Highly organised and proactive, capable of managing multiple tasks and priorities.
- Client-focused, with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality service.
- Flexible and dependable, with a positive, can-do attitude.
- Willing to work on our on-call rota.
- Valid CSR / CSCS Card, demonstrating awareness of health and safety standards on construction sites.
- Valid UK Driving Licence
Desirable Criteria
- IPAF 3A/3B Certification – For safe operation of mobile elevated work platforms (MEWPs)
- PASMA Combined Certification – For the safe assembly and use of mobile access towers
- Asbestos Awareness Training important for working in older buildings
- First Aid Certification useful for emergency response on-site
- Gas Safe Registration
- Security Clearance – Required for certain sites (can be obtained if not already held)
